About the Publisher

My name is Jarrial (Jerry) Astor Stokes,
my wife of 58 years is
Margaret (Peggy) Sawyer Reed Stokes.
Our daughter is Sandra Stokes Montague.

married to Wayne Montague and I have
two grandchildren, Andy and Elizabeth.

I was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, January 14, 1923,
and one of the last children of
the Jones Sisters of Hartsville, South Carolina.

My grandfather, Callip Jones - born in1859,
and our grandmother, Millie Jones
had five daughters,
Maggie, Mary, Carrie, Nancy and Iva,
and one son, Wesley.

My sister, Ida Reba Stokes Kelly
and Jarrial (Jerry) Stokes
collaborated on publishing
"Keeping Up With the Joneses" in 2000.
Reba wrote the book,
and I published it.
Reba and her husband Alton
lived in the Hosking section
of Charlotte, North Carolina.

This website is dedicated to Reba

Without Reba's collections of facts
and photos about the Jones Sisters
and all their children,
(our cousins that we had by the dozens,
as you will read about them in this book),
there would be no records of our ancestors
and the
humor of the
Jones Girls of Hartville, = Hartsville, South Carolina.
